• College Student Lecture Project

    The college period is a critical phase for growth and development of life, in which the coordinated development of physiology, psychology, and socialization of college students is affected by various contradictions and conflicts, and the ideal self and the real self are often in conflict. We aim to help college students to improve their understanding of mental health knowledge, and better engage in their study and life. For this reason, since 2019, for three consecutive years, the Sumitomo Pharma (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. donated a total of RMB695,000 to conduct mental health science lectures in 21 universities and colleges in Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, and Hefei, with nearly 4,700 students attendees.

  • Public Service Video

    In recent years, the incidence of psychiatric and mental illness among college students has been rising, and the impact on society has been gradually increasing. However, symptoms of this illness are often obscured, unlike other physical illnesses. For this reason, from 2020 to 2022, Sumitomo Pharma (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. donated a total of RMB350,000 towards an extension of the college student lecture program and filmed two animated mental health science videos for college students to establish a good and healthy mindset.

  • Intelligent Blood Pressure in Enterprises and Public Institution’s PROMISE Hypertension Management for Young People Project

    In 2021, Sumitomo Pharma (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. donated RMB500,000, intending to develop suitable hypertension management methods for working middle-aged and young people and ultimately promote hypertension prevention and treatment, effectively in the middle-aged and young people in enterprises and public institutions.

  • Henan Floods

    In July 2021, Sumitomo Pharma (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. donated RMB1 million to purchase six sets of anesthesia machines and one set of syringe pump for the flooded areas of Henan Province to fulfill the medical needs of the people in the affected areas.

    In January 2020, the company donated RMB1 million specifically for the prevention and control of the epidemic in Wuhan to purchase medical protective equipment for the front-line medical staff to help them treat patients more safely and make efforts and contributions to fighting against the COVID-19 epidemic in China.

    In 2019, the company and Shanghai United Foundation established the United-Sumitomo Scholarship in three universities across China, aiming to cultivate the future force of China's medical career by providing better education to graduate students in psychiatric-related fields. The scholarship project will continue for five years, and the cumulative donation will be RMB1 million.

  • Environmental Protection

    From 2015 to 2017, the company actively accomplished its responsibility in environmental protection for three consecutive years. Cooperated with China Green Foundation and Beijing Green Sunshine Environmental Protection Public Welfare Foundation, the company donated a total of RMB220,000, planted 100 mu of forest in Beijing, Inner Mongolia, and Guizhou, maintained 150 mu of green space, and established an ecological and environmental science education base. More than 50 employees carried out on-site tree planting and maintenance work, which strengthened the employees' awareness of environmental protection.

    From 2016 to 2018, the company invited nearly 30 students from the schools in remote areas in the Guangxi and Qinghai provinces for three consecutive years to leave the mountains during summer and visit Shanghai and Suzhou to help them develop their perspectives, with a total donation of about RMB150,000.
    From 2009 to 2017, the company cooperated with several public welfare organizations for nine consecutive years to perform educational assistance projects, encompassing four provinces and seven regions, donating a total of RMB375,000 and supplying more than 3,500 materials to improve the living and learning conditions of the students from local schools. Under the leadership of the then CEO, the company organized activities for employees to visit local schools for many consecutive years.

    In 2024, Encouraged employees to participate in the "易起读" welfare activity. More than 1,300 books will be collected and donated to primary schools in remote mountainous areas of Yunnan to help them develop in the future.

    In 2024, SMPC reached a long-term cooperation agreement with East China Normal University Subsidiary the Luwan auxiliary read the experimental School and held two themed public welfare activities, namely "Good Hygiene Habits" and "Children's Drug Safety Popularization". The activities aim to help special children to develop good hygiene habits and popularize daily medication safety knowledge. The children's paintings have also been made into interactive science popularization picture books to help them better return to society. Dozens of employee volunteers from the SMPC Shanghai office participated in this public welfare activities and contributed nearly 50 hours of volunteer service.
